A legacy of leadership
Established in 1935 by Ben H. Rosenthal, Standard Meat Company is now in its fourth generation of family ownership, continuing our long tradition of innovating in the service of excellence.
There's something special about the way Texans care about each other. And that fits who we are as a company.
— Ben Rosenthal, CEO & Co-President
WE CUT OUR TEETH ON CUTTING MEAT
Our story begins in 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas. Today, that story reaches across the country and around the globe.

STEAKING OUT OUR TERRITORY
Since 1935, Standard Meat Company has grown into a leading global supplier of custom meat portioning, cooking, and packaging solutions. And we’ve done it by staying true to our core values and our Texas roots. We now operate multiple plants around the DFW Metroplex, and remain dedicated to the growth of our community. Our corporate headquarters is in the former Swift & Co. building in the Fort Worth Stockyards, the heart of the American cattle industry since the late nineteenth century.

SUSTAINABILITY COMES STANDARD
To us, “sustainability” is just a new word for being smart about doing business. Reducing waste and maximizing efficiency. Sourcing protein responsibly. Optimizing shelf-life and energy use. Recycling water and cooking oil where possible. Finding uses for by-products, and helping our meal-kit and foodservice partners reduce food waste. Applying new technologies, like our data-driven supply chain and ozone-cleaned water systems. Custom packaging that reduces waste and improves pallet efficiency. And our newest plant is an adaptive rehab of an old facility. With optimal distribution from our location in the heart of North America, you might say sustainability is in our bones.
